Kent Wayne McClendon, 60, of Talpa, Texas, went to be with the Lord in glory on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
Kent was born October 24, 1958 in Plainview, Texas, and was a graduate of Kress High School and later Charis Bible College. He was active at Hords Creek Cowboy Church in Coleman, where he served as a deacon. Kent loved God, horses, and the great outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia McClendon; his mother, Velma (Calhoun) McClendon, and his father, Cline McClendon of Hendrix, Oklahoma, formerly of Kress.
Kent is survived by his daughter, Leah Kocher of Little Elm; his sister Vicki Roberson of Pottsboro; his brothers, Daryl McClendon of Granbury, Lance McClendon of Weatherford, and twin brother, Trent McClendon of Sonora; and a nephew who was like a brother, Shawn Agnew of Polebridge, Montana.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Hords Creek Cowboy Church, in Coleman, followed by a 3:30 p.m. burial at Sonora Cemetery in Sonora.
