Kirtis Lee Taylor

b. June 1, 1971

Ballinger

Kirtis Lee Taylor, 53, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away. He was born on June 1, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, to Lewis and Betty Taylor.

Kirtis was a man who approached life with passion and enthusiasm in everything he did. He had a big heart, a love for life, and a personality that made him easy to be around. From a young age, he was always on the move—riding bicycles, building ramps, and finding any excuse to push the limits. As he got older, his love for wheels turned into a passion for working on his trucks, customizing them, and making sure the bass from his speakers could be heard from miles away. If you saw Kirtis coming down the road, you probably heard him first.

Music was a big part of Kirtis’s life. His playlists were as unique as he was, blasting heavy metal from Pantera and Metallica, rap from Insane Clown Posse and Wiz Khalifa, and classic country from George Strait. No matter the genre, if it had a good beat and could rattle the windows, he was all about it. He was also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan—no matter how much they frustrated him, he stayed loyal.

Kirtis was also a creative soul with a deep love for tattoos. He had many, each one telling its own story, and he enjoyed designing his own tattoo artwork. Whether he was doodling or working on a new tattoo design, his creativity was always flowing. His tattoos were a reflection of his personality, his passions, and his love for expression.

But more than anything, Kirtis lived for his daughter, Kirstie. He loved her more than anything, and she was his world. Kirstie was his greatest source of pride, and he would often tell her she was “the best of him.”

One of his greatest joys was being a grandpa to twins Taylor and Tres, and he had a way of making them smile that only he could.

He is survived by his daughter, Kirstie Taylor Rostro, and her husband, Antero Rostro; his grandchildren, Taylor Rostro and Tres Rostro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Betty Taylor.

Kirtis was a hard-working man who took pride in everything he did, whether it was his job, his trucks, or his creativity. His family and friends will always remember his love for music, trucks, tattoos, and the Cowboys, but most of all, the way he loved his daughter and grandbabies. Kirtis was taken from this world too soon, and he will be missed tremendously by his daughter and all those who knew him. He will always be remembered as a man who found strength in his loved ones, especially his daughter, who was not just his child, but his heart and his reason to keep going.
