Koleta "JoAnn" (House) Dillard, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, and was reunited in Heaven with the love of her life Malton Monroe "Buster" Dillard.
JoAnn was born on November 17, 1933, in Okra, Texas. She was the only child of Charlie Crews and Myrtle Alice House. On May 1, 1948, JoAnn and Buster were married in Cross Plains, Texas. This union was blessed by two wonderful children, Kathie and Mike. JoAnn and Buster shared 42 years of marriage before Buster's passing in 1990. JoAnn was also preceded in death by one great-grandson, Slade Joshua Smith.
JoAnn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. To many, she was known as "Mawmaw". She had a love for fishing and camping. She was an avid reader and loved to work her crossword puzzles every day. One of her biggest loves, though, was her cats, and she had many over the course of her life. For many years, the Dillard's home had an open door to those she cared about and it was full of love and laughter. She loved to show her visitors the memorabilia and collectibles she had obtained throughout her life and had an incredible gift for storytelling to accompany each piece. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew her.
Her beautiful life will be cherished in the lives of those who loved her - daughter Kathie Nan (Dillard) Henderson and husband Jim of Winters Tx and son Lonnie "Mike" Dillard and partner DAnn Brookey Perrie of Winters, TX; her grandchildren Jaci, Kari, Josh, Christopher, Minnie, Charlie, and Mary; 10 great-grandchildren; and many friends that she considered family.
