Lillie Belle Dahlberg

Lillie Belle Dahlberg, 95, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

She was born on May 17, 1926, to Carl B. and Cora Elana (Darley) Deans in Voca, Texas.  Lillie married the love of her life, Virgil L. Dahlberg, on November 4, 1944, and together they shared over 56 beautiful years before his passing in September of 2000.  She owned Thelma’s Dress Shop for 8 years and worked as the assistant admin for medical records at Brady Hospital for several years as well.  Lillie knew her Lord and Savior.  She was a devoted member of Sunset Church of Christ in Brady and was the secretary for many years.

Lillie is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Cora Deans, her husband Virgil Dahlberg, her brothers-in-law Billy Ray Taliaferro and George Gourley, and her beloved dog “Jay.”

She is survived by her son Stephen K. Dahlberg and wife Mitzi of Brownwood, Texas, son Daniel A Dahlberg and wife Cindy of Ballinger, Texas, and her daughter Judith E. Carpenter and husband Jimmy of Maggie Valley, NC. Lillie is also survived by her sisters Sue Taliaferro and Marie Gourley both of Brady, Texas.  She will be greatly missed by her 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Lillie will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady, Texas, with Leston Fields officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity in Lillie’s name.

The family wishes to thank Central Texas Nursing and Rehab and Kayla Blessing for their care of our mother, with special thanks to Leston Fields for being such a close friend of our family.
