Luther "Luke" Parker

Luther, sometimes known as Luke, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Ballinger Memorial Hospital, at the age of 89.

He was born on the homeplace near Hatchel, on December 14, 1934, to Fred and Hallie Parker.

Luke was always a cowboy at heart, loving the profession, along with his ranching and a little farming. He did quite a bit of ranching daywork for several people over the years, which he immensely enjoyed.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice; son, Scott Parker of Big Lake, Texas, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Alan Parker, sister Ferald Brunson and husband Jack, and daughter-in-law Vickie Parker, along with many lifelong friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bundrant for his great care, even though we think Dr. B was ready to pull out his hair due to Luke’s stubbornness. The staff at Ballinger Memorial Hospital, whatever job position you hold, we hope you know how appreciated you all are as well. Also, all of the care received from Ballinger Home health. Thank you all!
