Mallie Sue Vessel

Mallie Sue Vessel, 80, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Central Texas Nursing.

Mallie “Granna” Vessel was born on March 31, 1940, to Mallie Carr and Lyda Elsie (Singleton) Campbell in Ballinger.  She married Leslie Cole Sr. in January of 1959 and then later married Willie Vessel who preceded her in death.  She was also known as the pistol-packin' momma.  While she loved many things, she especially enjoyed annual trips to the coast, butterflies, and the color purple.  Above all things, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mallie and Lyda Campbell, her late husband Willie Vessel, her great-grandson, Brayden Perkins, and her brothers Grady Campbell and Darryl Campbell.

Mallie is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Daughter Elizabeth (Susie) Deeds of Abilene, Texas, and grandchildren Terra Lynn of Abilene, Texas.  Great-grandchildren Devon and wife Ashley Cole, Draven Cole and Joseph Lynn, and grandchild Cristalle Olson of Arlington, Texas.  Son Leslie Cole (Bubba) Jr of Abilene, Texas.  Daughter Sherry Juarez and husband Benny of Ballinger, Texas.  Granddaughter Tiffany Rivera and Husband Josh of Ballinger.  Great-grandchildren Brianna Coalson, Ryan Rivera, Bryla Perkins and fiancé Mike Plummer, Jersey Perkins and Abel Jimenez, Beau Perkins, Emma Perkins, Reagan Perkins, and Madison Rivera.  Grandchild Tristan Berrones and husband Steven of Ballinger.  Great-grandchildren Destiny Nuse and husband Tyler, Jaedan Coy, Davian Martinez, Gavin Martinez, Kanyon Martinez, Avianna Berrones, and Avah Martinez.  Grandchild Nathan Coy and wife Hadie of Ballinger, Tx, great-grandchildren Destin Coy, Diego Coy, Nathan Coy, Armando Coy, Julian Coy and Isabella Coy.  Grandchild Arah Ayers and husband Jonathan of Beale AFB, CA, great-grandchildren Braxton and Kadyn Ayers. Grandchildren Justin Rivera and Matthew Juarez.  Daughter Lana Cole and wife Benita of San Angelo, Texas.  Granddaughter Melissa Russo and husband Jason, and great-granddaughter Arietta Russo.  Daughter Tracy Cole and grandchild Ethan Cole and fiancé Holly Harris, and great-grandchildren Noah and Maverick.  Daughter Shona Galindo and grandchildren Chayse Galindo and Eryn Galindo and husband Chris, great-grandchildren Xavier, Domynic, Atilla, Chloe, Lynnox, and soon to be born Sayge.  She is also survived by her siblings Barbara and George Witte of Mesquite, Texas, and Rodger Campbell of Leuders, Texas.  Sue will be greatly missed as well by numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends considered family along the way.

A joint memorial service will be held for Mallie and her brother, Grady at the Ballinger Community Center at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
