Maria Garza

Maria Garza, 81, of Ballinger, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

She was born on November 21, 1939, to Luis and Santana (Morin) Garza in Beeville County, Texas.  Maria was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and served as a member of the Guadalupanas.  She worked for over 30 years for the Ballinger Independent School District, as the custodian for Ballinger High School.   While she loved many things, she was especially known for her singing and dancing.  But above all things, she greatly loved her family and her grandchildren that she played a large role in raising.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Luis and Santana, son Jose Luis Gonzales, daughter Blanca Chavez, and her sister Gregoria Munos.

She is survived by her son Hiram Gonzales and wife Dora of Bronte, son Johnny Sauceda and wife Sandy of Denton, son Paul Sauceda and wife Laura of Ballinger, son Martin Sauceda and wife (Dolores) of Burleson, daughter Sylvia Sauceda and fiancé Frank Bellucci of Ft. Worth, and son Harry Sauceda and wife Olga of Arlington.  Maria is also survived by her siblings, Corina Sauceda and husband Severiano of Ballinger, Lupe Flores of Corpus Christi, Aurora Martinez of Pearsall, Tx, Cruz Adame of Columbus, Georgia, and Luis Garza Jr. and wife Belen of Colorado City.  She will be greatly missed as well by her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be held for Maria on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Chapel at Lange Funeral Home.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day at Monday, January 18, 2021 at 10:00 am at St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger.  Father Ariel Lagunilla will be celebrating the mass.  Interment will follow at the Latin American Cemetery.
