Marion Cecil Hill

Marion Cecil Hill, 77, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

He was born on July 12, 1946, to Cecil Chester and Ida Faye (Pullin) Hill in Ballinger, Texas.  Marion was raised and attended school in Ballinger. He married the love of his life, Virginia West, on February 22, 1964, at the 9th St. Church of Christ, in Ballinger.  Marion worked for over 40 years in all aspects of the gas compression and oilfield business. He was very proud of his second career as a traveling salesman for a Christian Publishing Company. He was awarded the honor of being named the “Million Dollar Man”, selling one million dollars in his territory in one year.   In his younger years, he enjoyed tinkering and building things.   He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed bird hunting and fishing for catfish. Most of all he enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the United States.

Marion is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Ida Faye Hill, his sister Joyce McFadden, and his mother-in-law Rhody West.

He is survived by his wife Virginia, his sons Brad Hill and wife Pam of San Angelo, Texas, and Brian Hill and wife Amanda of Avinger, Texas.  Marion is also survived by his nephews Don McFadden and his wife Debbie, and Doug McFadden and his wife Rose.  He is dearly remembered by his brother-in-law Guy McFadden, and sisters-in-law Lois Smith, Laverne Baker and husband Mack, and Bobbie Love and husband Dwayne.  He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Brent Hill and wife Sara, Meagan Hill, Brandon Hill, Paige Smith and husband Sam, and Mason Hill, as well as several great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Marion will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, at 6:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home.  His service will follow on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 am at the 9th Street Church of Christ in Ballinger with Lynn Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery.
