Mary Lynn Workman Piel

Mary Lynn Workman Piel, of Del Rio, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Del Rio Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on October 30, 1949, in Runnels County to Albert Ray Workman and Vivian Hollis Workman. After high school, Mary married Gene Piel on May 17, 1968, in Ballinger, TX and they shared fifty-two happy and loving years together. She was a mother, homemaker, Cub Scouts Den Mother, Bowling League Coach, and Grandmother. She also worked full time for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working in the garden.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Piel, her parents, Albert Ray Workman and Vivian Hollis Workman, brothers, James Ray Workman, Eldon “Shorty” Workman, Earl Dean Workman, and Jimmy Lee Workman.

She is survived by her husband Gene Piel, Sons Jason Piel and wife Darci, Jeffrey Piel, and wife Tymonee. Grandsons; Rylan, Kasen, and Beau Piel. Siblings; Ruby Redman and husband Curtis of Abilene, Myrtie Bales of Hatchel, Arthur Reed “Butch” Workman of Seguin, Dorothy Wadsworth of Ballinger, and Deacon David Workman and wife Brenda of Hatchel.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Del Rio Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center and the care of Dr. Laing.

Services provided by Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Tx. A graveside service will be held  Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 9:00 am.
