Mary Gaitan Soto

Mary Gaitan Soto, 89, of Ballinger, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at her residence.

She was born September 16, 1933, in Rowena, Texas to Francisco and Sarah (Soto) Gaitan. Mary married John Soto on June 21, 1952, in Rowena and together they shared 62 wonderful years before his passing in 2014. She was a member of the San Antonio VFW and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mary loved to dance and listen to music. She also loved to cook and spend time with her family.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Owens; sons Gilbert Soto and wife Elsa, William Soto and wife Linda; grandchildren Christopher Henry, Jennifer Flores, Jon Soto, Stephanie Ireland, and Brad Davis; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Garza and husband Frank, Della Garcia; brother Frank Gaitan and wife Janie, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Friday, at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Rowena with Father Timothy Hayter celebrating.
