Matilda “Tillie” Doris Englert, 93, of Norton, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at the Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab.
She was born August 16, 1926, in Winters to Herman and Ida (Bredemeyer) Jacob. Tillie married Andrew George Englert on April 21, 1946, in Winters. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1997.
She devoted her life to the all-important task of wife, mother, and grandmother, building a home and instilling family values and the love of God. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, as well as the Catholic Daughters and St. Ann Altar Society.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents; daughter, Marilyn Kay; son, Jimmy Michael; brothers, Jake Jacob (Margie), Herbert Jacob (Evelyn), sister, Betty Gray (Marvin); parents-in-law, Edmund and Minnie Englert; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ashton (Steve).
Tillie is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hall of Prosper; her sons, Steve Englert (Tammie) of Burnet and Robert Englert (Rose) of Norton; grandchildren, Tyler Englert, Holly Englert, Jennifer Englert, Jamie Knape (Brad), Mike Englert (Katie), Thomas Hall (Courtney); sister, Velma Wilde of Rowena. Also surviving are a niece who is her Godchild, Susan Jost (Lee); great-grandchildren, Addison and Dylan Knape, Colten and Casen Englert.
Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Friday, November 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, at 10:00 am also at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr Ariel Lagunilla celebrating. Burial will follow the service and will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Winters.
