Melissa Karen Jones

Melissa Karen Jones, 61, of Millersview, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

She was born on September 12, 1962, to Jerry Arthur and Nancy (Thompson) Baker in Ballinger, Texas.  After graduating high school, she went on to marry the love of her life, Bryan Jones, in a ceremony on August 1, 1981.  Melissa worked for over 35 years as a bank teller at The First National Bank of Ballinger.  She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, especially to Vegas, but also enjoyed traveling to Cancun and Washington.  The ultimate Bearcat mom, she made sure to follow her boys with every sport that they participated in.   Melissa also really loved her Boston Terrier puppy dogs, Nikki and Frida.

Melissa is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Arthur Baker.

She is survived by her mother Nancy Baker, husband of 42 years, Bryan Jones, her two sons Spencer and Kendall Jones, her brothers Russ and Rodger Baker, and her sister Lynn De La Cruz.

A visitation and funeral service for Melissa will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Lange Funeral Home Chapel, with the visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Dustin Marshall will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude in Melissa’s honor.
