Mike Jaques

Margarito “Mike” Jaques, age 87, of Forney, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at his home.

Mike was born July 20, 1932, in Miles, Texas, to Bernardino and Guadalupe (Albarado) Jaques.  He lived and worked in the Rowena and San Angelo areas all his life until moving to Forney to be near family.  He married Delfina Gaitan on November 5, 1952, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, where he was a member.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus.  Mike was employed by Western Iron Works in San Angelo for several years and farmed for Richard Book in Miles for 11 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter, Lydia Wiseman.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Maggie Mojica and husband, David, of Forney; son, Jesse Jacques of Rowena; and grandchildren, Heather, Andrew, and Allee.  Also surviving are his brothers, Henry Jacques of San Angelo, and Pete Jacques of Rowena; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Garza of Rowena, Della Garcia of San Angelo, Virginia Garcia of San Angelo, and Mary Soto of Ballinger; and brother-in-law, Frank Gaitan of Ballinger.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 14, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena.
