Minnie Margaret Marks, 82, of Winters, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021.
She was born on May 16, 1938, to John William and Minnie Margaret (Pruser) Kraatz in Winters, Texas. After high school, she went on to marry the love of her life, Charles Don Marks on March 21 at the Lutheran Church of Winters. Together they shared over 50 beautiful years together before his passing. She worked for Dry Manufacturing as a line leader for several years before her retirement. Minnie was known for her sewing, which she did for years for the public. Together, with Charles, they also had an incredible garden, in which they grew enough food to feed their entire family. She also served with the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Kraatz, and her husband Charles Marks. She is also preceded in death by her brothers John William Kraatz, David Kraatz, and sisters Vera Kraatz and Helen Henderson.
She is survived by her daughters Diane Torres and husband Tony, Donna Torres and husband Oscar, and Lisa O’Dell and husband Blake, all of Winters, Texas. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Kraatz, Fred Kraatz, Dan Kraatz, and Leroy Kraatz. Minnie will also be dearly remembered by her 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Minnie will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 10:00 am the Chapel at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger with Mike Riley officiating. Interment will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery in Winters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to West Texas Rehabilitation in Abilene, Texas in Minnie’s name.
