Myrna Ray Urban passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Myrna was born in Ballinger, Texas on January 7, 1941. She lived in Miles and graduated from Miles High School in 1959.
Myrna attended McMurray College in Abilene for two years and graduated from West Texas State in Canyon, Texas in 1963.
She lived in Odessa for many years and taught school for a number of years. She later sold insurance and then retired as manager of the Department of Human Resources.
Myrna was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ballinger. She enjoyed traveling and went to a number of foreign countries as well as taking a cruise. She also loved to read and spent many hours reading books at the nursing home in Ballinger, Texas.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Geraleen Urban; three nephews, John Burrus, Bob Hollweg, and Bill Hollweg; her aunt and uncle, Faye and Erwin Kiesling; and a cousin, Paul Book.
Surviving Myrna are two sisters, Merle Kay Hollweg and Janice May Burrus; a nephew Deen Burrus; two nieces, Kim Chevalier and Gera Bruner; a number of great nieces and great nephews; and some cousins.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Lange Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Rowena Protestant Cemetery in Rowena, Texas.
