Nolan G Adams

January 30, 1938 — February 8, 2021

Nolan Geddie Adams (Red), 83, of Ballinger, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 8, 2021.


He was born on January 30, 1938, to William Grady and Ettie Faye (Vaughn) Adams, Sr. in Murchison, Texas. He attended college at Texas A&M University before marrying the love of his life Barbara Sue Weathers on January 9, 1959, in Port Arthur, Texas. Together they shared 63 blissful years filled with loving memories. He retired from the oil and gas industry after 30 years, He started his career working for Neches Butane in Port
Neches, Texas. His career took him to many exciting locations including, Oman, Russia, Egypt, South America, Yemen, and Bangladesh. After all the trips abroad, he enjoyed the simple things; trips to the beach with his loving wife, and driving around Texas looking at the Texas wildflowers, particularly the bluebonnets. He loved his family dearly, one of the happiest days was when his first granddaughter, Kassie was born. He had a
passion for reading, especially Texas history.

Nolan is preceded in death by his parents William and Ettie Adams, Sr., his infant son Stephan Adams, his brother W.G. Adams, Jr, and his sister Faye Adams.


He is survived by his wife Barbara; his daughter Tracey Cantrell and husband Steve; granddaughter Kassie Spencer and husband Jimmy; great-grandchildren Evan, James, and Kason, of Belton, Texas; his son Todd Adams and wife Carolyn of Bloomfield, New Mexico; grandson Stephen; granddaughter Sarah; his daughter Kelley Berry and husband Glen of Paint Rock, Texas; granddaughter Jessica Thomas and husband JT; great-grandchildren Jayden and Nevaeh, of Whitney, Texas; granddaughter Lyndsey Johnson and husband Justin of Copperas Cove, Texas; and niece Sherri Shoefstall and family of Nederland, Texas.


A private service in honor of Nolan will be held.


The family wishes to thank Ballinger Home Health and Hospice.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lubbock County Texas Boys Ranch or Meals on Wheels of Lubbock, Texas in Nolan’s honor.
