April 26, 1937 — November 19, 2024

Ballinger

Patricia “Pat” Zappe Billmeier, born in Ballinger, Texas on April 26, 1937, passed away peacefully in her home on November 19, 2024.

Pat was a talented artist specializing in ceramics and painting. She devoted her life to creating beautiful pieces that captured the essence of her artistic spirit. She shared her passion by introducing ceramics to children on school field trips and at summer camps. During her 87 years, Pat had the great fortune to travel the world, even living in Turkey for many years. Pat’s kindness, creativity, sharp wit and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pat was preceded in death by: her father H.J. Zappe, her mother Francis Zappe, and her daughter Elizabeth “Liz” Matthews.

She is survived by her loving sons, Chris Billmeier and Michael Billmeier, her grandson Hunter Ryan Billmeier, her daughter Dabla Billmeier, her sister Elaine Clifton, and her cousin Dorothy Ferrell. For those wishing to celebrate Pat’s life and spirit, the family asks that you plant native wildflowers and remember her when you see the blooms. As Pat was a lifelong supporter of reading, the family also asks that donations be made to Ballinger Carnegie Library in lieu of any floral arrangements as she preferred there be no funeral or graveside services. Pat’s legacy will live on through her art and the memories she shared with all those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace.

The family wishes to thank Ballinger Home Health & Home Hospice as well as Pat’s small army of dedicated caregivers for all of their amazing support which allowed Pat the ability to realize her wish to remain at home.
