Patsy Gayle Brown

January 20, 1938 — September 18, 2021

Patsy Gayle Brown, 83, of Seminole, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021.

She was born on January 20, 1938, to Pascal Randolph Dietz and Leona Henrietta Dietz in Ballinger, Texas. She met the love of her life, Fred Houston Brown Sr., at a local skating rink and later married on June 16, 1955. They shared 53 wonderful years together before his passing in 2008.

Patsy was a member of the First United Methodist Church her whole life and became a minister’s wife when Fred entered into the ministry after they were married. Together they dedicated their lives to many communities through the ministry of the First United Methodist Church for over 40 years. Patsy played the organ and helped in all aspects of the church as they raised their 3 children. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed decorating her home, playing the organ, and cooking for her children and grandchildren. Eventually, she started working at the hospital as a nurse’s aide and went on to get her LVN license. Patsy very much enjoyed serving and caring for her community.

Patsy and Fred moved into the Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole, Texas in 2006 where they lived out the remainder of their lives. Patsy made many friends and loved the residents and all of her caregivers. The family wishes to thank all the staff of Memorial Health Care Center of Seminole, Texas for the exceptional care, love, and support to their parents and the family during their stay.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents Pascal Dietz and Leona Dietz Witt, her stepfather Jack Erwin Witt, and her husband Fred Houston Brown Sr.

She is survived by her daughters Robin Houghton and spouse Garland Barnhart of Georgetown, Texas; Rebecca Autry and her spouse Robert Autry of Seminole, Texas; and her son Fred Houston Brown Jr. and his spouse Sheila Brown of Ackerly, Texas. Patsy is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
