Phillip Homer, 71, of Rowena, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, in Rowena, Texas.
Phillip was born on July 30, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas to Jack and Betty Lou Homer.
He married Karen on October 16, 2006, in Ballinger, Texas, where they shared 18 beautiful years of marriage.
He was a talented guitarist and a dedicated member of the praise band at the Methodist Church. He shared the stage with his fellow band members Mark, Johnny, Jolene, Michael, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Buddy, Alan, and Dorothy. Together, they brought joy to the congregation through their uplifting songs of praise.
Phillip's memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Karen Homer. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronnie Homer of Burleson, Texas, and Donald Homer of Corpus Christi, Texas, three nephews, Chris, Joshua, and LaVon Homer, his step-brother, Kenneth Lee Taylor of Longview, Texas, and step-father, Ferral Taylor of Longview, Texas, and step-sister, Kimberly Taylor Davis.
Phillip also leaves behind his dear father and mother-in-law, Eddie and Carolyn McNelly. His sister-in-law Kathy and husband Kedrick Brock and niece Sophie. Phillip shared a special bond with his stepchildren Bradley Horton, and Chelsea Horton and fiancé Nathan Alexander, as well as his dog Ruby.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and his 4-legged best friend Boomer.
A memorial service to honor Phillip's life will be held on Tuesday, February 20th at 2:00 pm, at the First Methodist Church in Ballinger, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in Phillip’s honor.
