Roberto Niño Silva

May 4, 1951 — July 12, 2022

Roberto Niño Silva, 71, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Roberto was born on Friday, May 4, 1951 to Julian Puenté Niño, and Margarita (Ouiedo), in Mezquital de Bocas San Luis Potosi. He married Soraida (Moreno Barbosa) on November 7, 2008, in Ballinger, Texas. Roberto had been in the Winters area since 1979 working as a Derrick Hand for Pool Well Service. He loved the Lord Jesus and served as a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Ballinger. “For many are called but few are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14) Brother Roberto had a passion to carry the gospel to whoever needed it and people were receptive. He loved those that were lost, sick, weak in faith, and on the wrong path. He was gifted in being able to make people feel accepted and comfortable. He felt that he could do anything as taught in Phal. 4:13. He loved to sing praises to the Lord. He enjoyed studying the Lord with his beloved wife. Roberto loved physical work and was ready to engage in any challenge. He was not one to discontinue a task because of not knowing how to do it but would try anyway and always gave the glory to the Lord. He indeed loved his wife, Soraida, his family, his friends, and his farm. He was also known to carry a piece of “chicle” in his pocket, available to his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Julian Puenté, mother Margarita; first wife, Alicia Silva; and his sister, Alejandra Silva.
Roberto is survived by his wife Soraida Silva, of Ballinger, Texas; sons, Robert Silva Jr. and wife Julia of Midland, Texas, Arnold Silva and wife Adela of Winters, Texas, Chris Perez of Winters, Ricky Silva and wife Sarah of Winters; daughters Raquel Martinez and husband John of Ballinger, Frances Aleman and husband German Hernandez of Winters, Liz Tischler and husband Glenn, of Winters, Elia Silva of Monterrey, Mexico; stepsons Rogelio Roman and wife Anabel Gonzales of Tye, Texas, Ramiro Roman of Ballinger, and Roberto Roman of Ballinger; brothers Francisco Puenté and wife “Mika” of Garland, Texas, Desiderio Silva and wife Rosa of Arlington, Texas, Martin Martinez and wife Angelica of Mezquital de Bocas San Luis Potosi; sisters Lydia Arriaga and husband Lucas of Houston, Texas, Alicia Silva and husband Julio of Monterrey, Mexico; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
