Rodger was born October 6, 1946, to Janie B Bradley Houston and Sidney B Houston in Winters, Texas. Rodger attended Clyde High School where he played football. He spent his adult life in San Angelo, Texas. Rodger loved life, music-listening and playing, his family, his friends, Dr. Pepper, and cookies. Rodger was a natural musician with the ability to play drums and bass guitar. He played in a band with his older brother in his younger days. Rodger was easygoing and liked to keep things simple. He had a big heart and a spirit for giving.
Rodger is preceded in death by his mother, Janie B Bradley Houston; his father, Sidney Houston; his sister, Jana Annette Houston; his brother, James Melvin Houston; and his nephew, Jimmy Dee Houston.
He is survived by his sister, La Nelle Morrison of Winters, Texas; his niece, Robbie Morrison Bishop and husband Dane Bishop of Winters, Texas; his great niece Krystal Mc Cool and family of Midlothian, Texas; his nephew Jerry Houston and Judy Houston of Harper, Texas; his nephew Joe Houston and Debbie Houseman of San Angelo, Texas; his nephew Jeff Houston and Eppie Houston of San Angelo, Texas; Kathy Houston spouse of Jimmy Houston of Kingsville, Texas; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 26 th at 2:00 pm at the Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas.
