Rudene Lee

Rudene Lee, 83, of Norton, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

She was born on August 22, 1937, to Adcur Willie and Lura N. (Bird) Tipton in Gatesville, Texas.   After graduating from high school, Rudene worked several clerical jobs, including for  Lonestar Gas.  She married Bailey Lee on August 18, 1978, in Robert Lee, Texas.  She loved gardening and had an extensive herb garden as well. Rudene also enjoyed canning and pickling things directly from her garden. Rudene loved to craft, she knitted and crocheted afghans, took up woodworking, and hand-crafted unique merry-go-round horses.

She is preceded in death by her parents Adcur and Lura; her brothers John, Buddy, Harland, and Homer; and sisters Treva Schiller and Rita Bea Perry.

Rudene is survived by her loving husband Bailey, her son Chris Jernigan and wife Leigh of Norton, and her two precious grandchildren Grace and Harper.

A graveside service will be held for Rudene at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Norton Cemetery with Lynn Smith officiating.
