Sharon Smith

November 23, 1949 — September 15, 2023

Sharon Smith, beloved wife, mother, and nurse, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 23, 1949, in San Angelo, TX, and it was there that she touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her journey.

Sharon's passion for caregiving led her to graduate from Howard College as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). She dedicated her career to serving others, working in various hospitals and nursing homes in San Angelo and Eden. It was during this time that she crossed paths with Larry Smith, in prison. He as a correctional officer, and she as a nurse. Their connection blossomed, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together on July 12, 2007, in Ballinger

Though Sharon was known for her fun-loving nature and infectious laughter, she also possessed a unique sense of humor, often enjoying practical jokes that left everyone in stitches. Her warm heart and compassionate spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sharon had a gift for lifting the spirits of those around her, bringing joy and laughter to even the toughest of days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Raymond Ward.

Sharon leaves behind her loving husband, Larry Smith, daughter Rebecca McClain and husband William, son Jeffery Ward and wife Carla, brother Freddy Dean Mathews and wife Vivica, niece Jennifer DeLaCruz and husband Jose, and special cousin Patricia Usery. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to honor Sharon's life will be held at a later date.
