Sherman Lee Pounds, 97, passed away at his residence in Ballinger, Texas on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
Sherman was born to Wilbur and Katie Pounds on April 8, 1924, in Kilgore, Texas. He married Alvis Dunham on May 28, 1980. Sherman was a Corporal in the United States Marines. He worked many years as a welder/fabricator in Odessa, Texas. He has called Ballinger his home since August of 2013 and attended Glory Road Cowboy Church. He was also a member of the Temple Baptist Church/Crossroads Fellowship in Odessa for over 65 years.
Sherman is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother Carl Pounds.
He is survived by his daughter, Becky Ferguson and husband Robert of Ballinger, Texas; his son Jerry Pounds and wife Jean of Longview, Texas; his granddaughters, Kelli Regan of Fort Worth, Texas; his grandsons, Kenny Gayoso of McKinney, Texas and Clifford Ferguson of Odessa, Texas; great-granddaughters, Ashlie Boff and Kaitlin Regan both of Fort Worth, Texas, Mickenzie Gayoso of McKinney, Texas, and Cassandra McDorman of Odessa, Texas; great-grandsons, Garrett Gayoso of Mckinney, Texas; and his great-great-grandson Liam Boff of Fort Worth, Texas.
