Shirley Ann Ashton, 81 of Ballinger, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab after a long battle with cancer.
She was born March 21, 1941, to Joe and Olga (Gottschalk) Paske in Ballinger, Texas, where she continued to live and raise a family.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Sherman, and husband Eric, of Ballinger; son, Michael of Pleasant Grove, Utah; grandsons, Scot Molina and wife Amanda of New Braunfels and Justin Sherman and wife Catherine of Jacksonville, North Carolina; great-granddaughters, Brittany and Jessica Molina; and brother, Joe Paske and wife Martha of San Angelo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; her parents; daughter, Theresa Ann Ashton; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shirley was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She loved spending time with family, friends, and her fur- babies. There wasn’t a person she couldn’t strike up a conversation with. Shirley would talk to strangers like she knew them forever. She was such a giving person, and always tried to help others if she could. Shirley will always be remembered as a kind and loving person to everyone she knew.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Lange Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00 pm. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 24, 20213 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.
