Shona Galindo

Shona (Cole) Galindo, 54, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Shannon Medical Center.

Shona was born on Sunday, January 4, 1970, to Mallie Sue (Campbell) and Leslie Cole Sr. in Big Spring, Texas. She graduated from Ballinger High School in 1988. Shona was a hard worker, lending her many talents to those around her for construction, painting, landscaping, and basically anything anyone around her needed.

She was preceded in death by her mother; Mallie Sue Vessel, maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; great nephew Brayden Perkins; and “surrogate husband” Rodney Buxkemper.

Shona is survived by her son Chayse Galindo; her daughter, Eryn Galindo and Chris Lujano; grandchildren Lynnox, Sayge and Ivy Lujano; her dad, Leslie Cole, Sr. and stepmom Helen; brother, Leslie (Bubba) Cole Jr.; sisters, Susie Deeds, Sherry Juarez and husband Benny, Lana Cole and wife Benita, Tracy Cole, Laura Buxkemper and son Jack; nieces Terra Lynn, Cristalle Olsen, Tiffany Rivera and husband Josh, Tristan Berrones and husband Steven, Nathan Coy and wife Hadie, Arah Ayers and husband Jonathan, Ethan Cole and wife Holly. “Momo” is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, including special niece Jersey Perkins; and many friends that she loved like family, including Mark Halfmann, Dr. Karen Rightmire, and Larry Flippin.

Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life. Shona loved big and took pride in helping others. She will be missed.

There will be a time of remembrance and visitation for Shona on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., at Glory Road Cowboy Church in Ballinger.
