Socorro Martinez

Maria Del Socorro Martinez, 63, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2020.

Socorro was born on June 28, 1957 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico to Concepcion Correa and Maria Del Socorro Ruiz Correa.

She married Gonzalo Martinez on April 8, 1978 in Zaragoza, Mexico.

Socorro was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a life-long resident of Ballinger, Texas, and was loved and will be dearly missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Concepcion and Socorro Correa; and brother, Roberto Correa.

She is survived by her spouse, Gonzalo Martinez; her children, Leidyanna Martinez, Josue (Brenda) Martinez, Cindy Martinez of Austin, Texas, and Abraham (Sierra) Martinez of San Angelo, Texas; her grandchildren, Eliannie Martinez, Omar Martinez, and Adaline Martinez.  She is also survived by her siblings, Jose Correa, Carlos Correa, Maribel Gloria, Maricela Marin, Norma Ortiz, Concepcion Correa, Jr., Nora Romo, and Jaime Correa.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021, at 6:00 PM at the Lange Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballinger, Texas on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at the Latin American cemetery in Ballinger, Texas.

In lieu of attendance, flowers are welcome.

The family will NOT be accepting contact condolences due to COVID.  Please practice social distancing and wear a mask.
