Steve Jay Todd Sr.

March 15, 1947 — March 3, 2021

Steve Jay Todd Sr., 73, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

He was born on Saturday, March 15, 1947, to Clyde Leroy and Cleta (Sharpton) Todd.  In 1967 he joined the United States Military and served in the Army until his honorable discharge.  Steve was an electrician by trade and loved to tinker and build things.  He loved sports especially Chicago Cubs baseball and Sooner football.  Above all things, however, Steve loved his children and grandchildren.  He was known to be very generous as well and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and never lost his love of learning.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Cleta Todd.

He is survived by his children, son Steve Todd and wife Shauna, son Scott Todd and wife Sandi, and daughter Sherri Wilkes and husband Rusty, all of Midland, Texas. Steve is also survived by his sister Alice Gibbins and husband Billy of Hobbs, NM.  He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Savannah, Addison, Matthew, Haydn, and Landon; and his great-grandchildren Layla and Ivy.

Graveside services for Steve will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Abilene’s Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery.
