Sylvia Flores

Sylvia G. Flores, of Ballinger passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019, at Central Texas Nursing and Rehab. She was born July 12, 1949 in Ballinger to Gabino Gonzales and Hermina (Esquivel). Sylvia grew up in Ballinger and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Cleofas Rodriguez. She married Raymond Flores Jr. on July 24, 1971.

Sylvia retired from Walmart after 29 years of service as a department manager, where her customers became longtime friends. She devoted her retired life to attending each and every single sporting event to support and cheer on the grandchildren she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Flores, Jr.; her parents Cleofas and Herminia Rodriguez, father Gabino Gonzales; and brothers Johnny De La Cerda, Jessie De La Cerda, and Frank Rodriquez.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Tony and wife Jennifer, of Ballinger; and by daughters Kristy Flores of Abilene; and Kayla Flores of Ballinger. Grandchildren Erin Boggess, Elyssa Korn-Flores, Amber Horton, Ryan Purdon, Yesinia Avila, Miguel Avila, and Raymond Avila, Carolina Flores and Damian Dupre; Great-Grandchild Elijah Flores; sisters Lydia Escobar of Ballinger, Mary Ortegon and husband Fred of Graham; brothers Clifford Hernandez, of Brownwood, Harvey Gonzales, Julian Gonzales, Conrad Gonzales, Larry Gonzales, sister Frances Legaspi, of Bakersfield CA,sisters in law; Rosa De La Cerda, and Nelda Rodriquez of Ballinger; special friends, Freda and Mando Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Yesu officiating. Burial will follow at the Latin American Cemetery.
