Teodora Contreras Torres

Mrs. Teodora Contreras Torres, 86, of Miles passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Rosary Service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at  10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, also at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Ariel officiating, Burial will follow at the Miles Cemetery.

Teodora was born December 15, 1936, in San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, Mexico to Lorenzo Contreras Martinez and Baldomera Guzman Camacho de Contreras. In 1968, she and her husband, along with their family, established their home in Miles, where she devoted herself to the role of a homemaker. Teodora was a dedicated member of St. Thomas Catholic Church for more than 55 years, actively participating in the Spanish Bible class. An avid traveler, she ventured across the globe, visiting Spain, Vatican City, Italy, Germany, France, Mexico, and both the East and West coasts of the USA. Her love for exploration knew no bounds.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Luis Torres; her parents Lorenzo and Baldomera Contreras; her brother, Martin Contreras; and her sister, Ana-Maria Contreras.

Teodora is survived by her six children: Jose Luis Torres and wife, Gloria; Eduardo Torres and wife, Cristina; Hugo Torres and wife, Karen; Gustavo Torres and husband, Guy; Ana Maria Martinez and husband, Salvador; and Alma Rosa Torres. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren: Nazareth, Israel, Karla, Hugo, Valeria, Victoria, Joseph, Elizabeth, Christian, Ivan, Janna, Lukas, and Jacqueline. And 14 great-grandchildren: Alondra, Dario, Valentina, Gaia, Italia, London, Roselin, Hugo Jr., Annalise Violet, Elena, Nzaki, Kunhe, Alexander, and Analia. Teodora is also survived by her siblings, Diego and Maria de los Angeles.

The family expresses thanks and love to everyone who gave help, support, comfort, thoughts, and prayers to their mother during the last few years.
