Terry Kay Penkert, 74, of Miles, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 14, 2021after a reoccurring battle with cancer.

He was born on Monday, February 10, 1947, to Frank and Virginia Katherine (Treadaway) Penkert in San Angelo, Texas. Terry also took an interest in preserving the history of his hometown by helping at the Miles Museum and starting the Facebook page “Miles Memories”.  He was honored to participate in the Permian Basin Honor Flight in May 2018 with fellow veterans. He spent many years filming dirt track races at nearby speedways. Terry traveled the state working on family genealogy. He attended the events of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, almost always videoing and taking pictures.  He was a proud Miles Bulldog and Veribest Falcon fan.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Katherine Penkert, his brother James (Jimmy) F. Penkert, sister-in-law Kathy Penkert, brother-in-law Randy Wright and nephews Jim Penkert and Eric Penkert.

He leaves behind many family members and special friends.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Miles Cemetery with Gary Karschner officiating.  A reception and visitation will follow at the Miles United Methodist Church in Miles, Texas.
