Thomas Lee Selby

Thomas Lee Selby, 70, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Ballinger, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 peacefully in his home.

He was born to William “Bill” and Helen (Duff) Selby on November 13, 1947.  He married Jeanne Black on August 24, 1968 and together they raised two children.  Tom graduated from Angelo State University and dedicated his life to teaching History and coaching football, basketball and golf.  Coach Selby touched the lives of many students, athletes and colleagues and continued to do so long after he retired in 2010.  He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and his brother-in-law, Eddie Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Black (Knoxville, TN); son, Tommy Selby (Knoxville, TN); daughter, Heather Selby and fiancée, Dusty Griffin (Ft. Worth, TX);5 granddaughters, McKenzie Selby, Taylor Selby, Samantha Tiller, Maci Tiller and Kaylee Griffin; 1 grandson, John Thomas Tiller; a sister, Billie Brown (Ballinger, TX); a niece, Debra Rinn (Ballinger, TX); a nephew, Bill Brown (Ballinger, TX); and many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger.
