Tony Torres, 72, of Winters, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. He was born on June 13, 1949, to Marcelo and Paula (Hernandez) Torres, Sr. in Big Springs, Texas. He was drafted into the military to serve in Vietnam and was honorably discharged after completing his service. On April 20, 1974, he married the love of his life, Diane Marks, at a ceremony at the Lutheran Church in Winters. Together they shared over 47 beautiful years. Tony worked for the city as a water plant operator for over twenty-five years before his retirement at 65 years of age. He was a fan of old classic rock-n-roll and took on woodworking as a hobby with his brother Oscar. Above all things, Tony loved his family. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Marcelo and Paula Torres, Sr., his sisters Thomasa Torres and Lupe Arroyo, and his brothers David and Marcelo Jr. Torres. He is survived by his wife, Diane Torres, his daughter Autumn Eve Torres and fiancé Brent Dennis of Noble, Oklahoma, his brother Willie Torres, grandchildren Miranda Lozano and husband Jack of Winters, and Marcus Torres and wife Athena Mata of Winters. Tony is also survived by his great-grandchildren Harper Dawn and Willow Bee, and his brother Oscar Torres and wife Donna of Winters. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing in Tony’s name.
