Trevor Callen Gibbs

February 21, 2004 — May 13, 2024

Trevor Callen Gibbs left this earth to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, May 13th.

He was born on February 21, 2004, in San Angelo, Texas, to Marty Gibbs and Jackie Lee.

Trevor had a special way of making everyone feel loved and a selfless heart that never stopped giving. Growing up, he was heavily involved in 4-H projects and passionate about raising and showing sheep and goats and would be the first to tell you all about his back-to-back Reserve Champion Finewool Cross at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. However, nothing compared to his love for the thousands of friendships he garnered over his highly decorated high school career as a Texas 4-H Council Member, 4-time National Champion DECA Business Awardee, Ballinger Golf Team Member, and Ballinger FFA Member. There was never a room that Trevor didn’t brighten, and he never met a stranger. That was especially the case during his tenure with the Ballinger Feed & Seed, where he enjoyed daily conversations with a wealth of community members as they all enjoyed a cup of coffee. His never-quitting attitude and joyful personality followed him to West Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2022 as an Agricultural Business major before he found his true passion in the Accounting Department. As a proud Buff, he was no less dedicated to serving and leading his peers as a West Texas A&M University Senator, an active member of several intramural sports, and a cherished Community Advisor in Jones Hall. During this time, he took advantage of every opportunity to provide a helping hand and mentor students to success. He was tremendously dedicated to his faith and maintained an active membership with the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Some of his greatest joys were serving as a lector at mass and as a member of the Teen Acts Team.

Trevor is survived by his loving parents Marty Gibbs (Cindy), Jackie Lee (Melissa), his siblings Ashley Book (Cory), Logan McCoy (Carissa), Bryce Doty, Courtney Doty (Dancen), Kirsten McCoy (Chris), and Rachel Gibbs Wilson (Kyle). He is also survived by his grandparents, Helen Matschek and Robert & Carol Lewis. He will be remembered by his sweet nieces and nephews, Carlie, Carson, and Clay Book, and Stetson Doty as well as his Godparents, Will & Karen Byler.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha & Joe Gibbs, Tommy Potter & Voncille Reid, Charles Matschek, and Christine Alexander.

A rosary will be said for Trevor on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas.  His Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after at 10:00 am, also at St. Joseph with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery also in Rowena.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you pay it forward: share a hug or a smile, be a friend, or just make someone laugh every day to continue Trevor’s legacy.
