William Harold Mckinney

William Harold McKinney was born on December 18, 1923 to Linnie Ethel Henry and Lawrence McKinney in Arkansas.  He passed away in Ballinger TX on August 17, 2018 and was joyfully received by his Savior, Jesus Christ.  He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.  His wife of 69 years, Leslie, preceded him in death 14 days prior to his death.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Steven and Debbie Ballard, son and daughter-in-law, Phill and Arlene McKinney, grandchildren Mac McKinney, Betsy McKinney Allen, Christy McKinney, Kris Ballard, and Kevin Ballard.  He’s also survived by great grandchildren Scott Allen, Tasha McKinney, Tiffany Allen, Koty McKinney, Lilliana Ferrara and numerous great great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind his best friend, his dog, Gidget.

He worked as an aircraft mechanic for Webb Airforce Base in Big Spring TX until it closed in 1977.  Upon his retirement, he moved his family back to Zephyr.  Harold was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved going to Colorado to hunt elk with his friends and spent a lot of time at Port Aransas gigging flounder with his brother Charles and many other family members and friends.

Graveside service for Harold will be held at Democrat Cemetery in Mills County on Wednesday August 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  Troy Henderson, Care Pastor of Victory Life Church is officiating.
