Winnie Merle Cox

Winnie Cox, 96, of Ballinger passed away Monday. June 3, 2019 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab.

Winnie was born December 31, 1922, in Hunt County Texas, to Cal and Lela (Bryant) Adair.  Winnie married her lifelong sweetheart, Douglas Cox, on June 12, 1943. He preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter Lela Cox Kelly; sister Midge Neumeier; and brother Dillard Adair.

Survivors include her children, Gena Bonds and husband David and son, Sterling Cox. Grandchildren; Doug Bonds and wife Tracy, Joe Bonds and wife Lani, E. Sterling Cox and wife Suzanne, Matt Cox and wife Kim, Amanda Jeter and husband Will, Gena Ettinger and husband Mark, J.J. Kelly, Rainey Crow and husband Blake, and Luke Kelly. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in Ballinger at the Evergreen Cemetery, Saturday, June 15, at 2:00pm.
