Marilyn Faye Mcminn

November 23, 1943 — December 1, 2023

On December 1, 2023, the world lost a passionate and faithful soul. Marilyn Faye McMinn, aged 80, departed this earthly realm in Spencer, TN, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on November 23, 1943, in Ballinger, TX, to Ralph Minter and Vada(Johnnie) Morrison, Marilyn's life was marked by her unwavering faith and commitment to her family.

While she embraced the role of a homemaker, Marilyn's dedication extended beyond the walls of her home. She served as a church secretary and treasurer, exemplifying her deep-rooted faith and commitment to her community. Her marriage to Olan McMinn on August 20th, 1959, was a testament to their enduring love, which spanned nearly five decades until Olan's passing in 2009. Together, they raised five children in Ballinger: Toni and Al Schuman, Keith McMinn, DeeDee and David Cude, and Shari McMinn and Jason Marshall. Sadly, one child, Dana Heubner, preceded her in death. Marilyn's love and guidance extended to her 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Marilyn's vibrant spirit was evident in her infectious laughter, radiant smile, and warm bear hugs. Her chocolate pies were legendary, a testament to her culinary prowess and her ability to bring joy to those around her. With her quick-witted humor, she could effortlessly brighten any room. Marilyn's love for words and storytelling was evident in her passion for gardening, raising house plants, and writing stories. Her thirst for knowledge was unquenchable, always seeking to expand her vocabulary and explore new horizons. She also was passionate on the importance of having a voice and never missed a chance to vote in her lifetime.

Above all, Marilyn's faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. Her trust and love for God were unwavering, and she embraced the role of a prayer warrior, interceding on behalf of others with fervor and dedication. Her unwavering devotion to her faith was a guiding light, providing solace and strength in times of joy and sorrow.

As we gather to bid farewell to Marilyn, let us remember her as a woman of unwavering faith, a beacon of love, and a pillar of strength. The service to celebrate her life will be held on December 5th at 2 pm at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN. While we say our goodbyes, let us also rejoice in the knowledge that Marilyn's spirit lives on, forever etched in our hearts. A graveside service, at Crews Cemetery in Crews, Texas, is pending with Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas, where Marilyn will find her final resting place.
